Sea Kayaking
SEA KAYAKING EXPEDITIONS
Haines, Alaska offers access to some of the most spectacular expedition paddling in North America. Nestled at the top of the legendary Inside Passage—at the end of the continent’s longest and deepest fjord—Haines is a gateway to wild coastlines, dramatic mountain backdrops, and rich marine ecosystems.
Scouts padle through pristine fjords where wildlife sightings often outnumber encounters with people. Marine life includes humpback and orca whales, sea otters, sea lions, seals, salmon, eagles, and a variety of waterfowl. Bears, wolves, and moose are also frequently spotted along the shoreline. Towering peaks, glaciers, and wild beaches make this a truly world-class sea kayaking destination.

Kayaking Routes
Our sea kayaking programs explore the Chilkat Peninsula and Chilkat State Park, with options to camp on remote islands and paddle beneath soaring peaks. A highlight for many scouts is the paddle to Glacier Point, followed by a hike to the face of Davidson Glacier.
Whether wrapped in early morning mist or bathed in bright Alaskan sun, these waters offer an unforgettable setting for adventure. All trips start and finish in Haines, a small community known for its exceptional wilderness access and rich natural beauty.
