Baja Sea Kayaking
BAJA SEA KAYAKING
5–24 Days
Baja California Peninsula is an ecological wonder and one of the world’s premier sea kayaking destinations—a striking meeting of desert and sea. This international expedition begins at our paddling center in La Paz, Baja California Sur, where scouts set off to explore the dramatic coastline and islands of the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez).
This region is known for its turquoise waters, unique desert landscapes, and rich marine life. Often described by Jacques Cousteau as “the world’s aquarium,” the Sea of Cortez offers unparalleled opportunities for exploration, cultural connection, and skill development.

Paddling & Exploration
Scouts learn sea kayaking techniques from professional instructors, including advanced strokes, navigation, and rough-water handling. Daily paddles bring the group past vermilion cliffs, slot canyons, shady arroyos, and stunning desert landscapes framed by the rugged Sierra de la Giganta.
When not paddling, scouts will snorkel and free dive on coral reefs teeming with colorful fish, hike through desert canyons, and explore remote beaches. Evenings offer time to practice Spanish, share meals, and experience Baja’s vibrant culture.
