We specialize in multi-day Alaska backpacking, sea kayaking, mountaineering, and whitewater rafting expeditions led by professional wilderness guides.
Each expedition is custom-designed to match your unit’s goals, experience level, and leadership objectives. Programs focus on developing teamwork, resilience, technical outdoor skills, and backcountry leadership in a remote Southeast Alaska wilderness setting of fjords, glaciers, and snow-capped peaks.
As Alaska’s only dedicated High Adventure Base for Scouting groups, we provide structured, safety-focused expeditions that combine adventure, skill development, and real-world leadership growth.
Our Course Offerings
Alaska Scouting Adventures delivers structured, multi-day high adventure programs in Haines, Alaska for Scouts BSA troops, Girl Scout groups, and organized youth units. Our Chilkoot High Adventure Base provides professionally guided backpacking, sea kayaking, glacier mountaineering, and whitewater rafting expeditions in Southeast Alaska.
Programs are built around progressive skill development, wilderness risk management, and youth leadership training. Participants gain experience in expedition planning, campcraft, navigation, glacier travel, paddling techniques, and team-based problem solving in a remote, roadless environment.
