CHILKOOT HIGH ADVENTURE BASE
Chilkoot High Adventure Base is located on the Chilkat Peninsula, just 4 miles outside the scenic town of Haines, Alaska. Nestled among forested glades of Sitka spruce, the base provides a comfortable and well-equipped staging point for all high adventure expeditions.
The property features spacious parade grounds and modern facilities designed to support youth expeditions in a wilderness setting. With a capacity of 40 scouts at a time, early reservations are recommended for summer programs.
Facilities
Bathhouse – Equipped with 7 showers, separate areas for boys and girls, and a dedicated staff section.
Community Dining Cabin – A shared space primarily used for meals, but also ideal for group meetings, games, and briefings.
Pavilion with Fire Ring – A covered gathering space that serves as a favorite evening hangout spot, perfect for campfires and group activities.
Parade Grounds – Open, grassy areas for camping and troop assembly, centrally located within the base.
