Step-By-Step Instructions for Registration:
1. Reserve Your Trip
Call us to determine available trip dates.
Reserve your space with a deposit of $1,500 per troop (minimum of 6).
Full payment is due 90 days prior to departure.
Once your deposit is received, trip leaders/participants will receive a welcome letter.
4. Read & Sign the Acknowledgment of Risk Form(s) :
For combination courses, both forms must be signed.
PAYMENTS
We accept:
Personal checks, cashier’s checks, money orders
Wire transfers (contact us for details)
Most major credit cards
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
All deposits include a $150 non-refundable registration fee.
Full refund (less fee) if canceled 90+ days before the trip.
50% refund if canceled 60–89 days before the trip (credit may be applied to another course within 12 months).
No refunds if canceled within 59 days of the trip.
If full payment is not received 90 days prior and no alternate arrangements have been made, your spot may be reassigned.
If a course ends early, no refunds will be issued.
IF WE CANCEL YOUR COURSE
If Chilkoot High Adventure Base cancels your course for any reason:
All deposits and payments will be refunded in full or transferred to another course.
We are not responsible for costs associated with flight cancellations, change fees, lodging, or meals.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
All participants must carry their own health insurance. Individuals are responsible for all medical, rescue, evacuation, and transportation costs. Verify that your policy covers:
The location of your course
Potential emergency or evacuation expenses
International coverage, if applicable.
WEATHER & DELAYS
In the event of trip delays due to weather or other factors, participants are responsible for additional costs (food, lodging, etc.). Some course content may be adjusted or modified to accommodate conditions.
RISK & LIABILITY
All participants must sign a Release, Acknowledgment of Risk and Indemnity Agreement.
Electronic signatures are valid.
A physical signature may be required upon arrival.
This document must be reviewed carefully prior to signing.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel insurance is required for international courses and strongly recommended for domestic programs. It can help cover medical expenses, evacuation costs, lost baggage, travel delays, and cancellations.
We recommend the Adventure Travel Protection Plan from AIG Travel Guard, which offers high-altitude climbing coverage and enhanced benefits if purchased within 15 days of trip deposit.
PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY
All participants are expected to:
Be in good physical health and secure medical clearance prior to departure.
Prepare appropriate equipment and clothing.
Follow hygiene and safety standards.
Respect group members, instructors, and cultural contexts.
Follow all instructions from guides and leaders.
Prohibited behaviors:
Use of illegal drugs or alcohol
Harassment or disruptive behavior
Theft or misuse of property
Disregarding instructor directions
Participants who do not meet behavioral or safety expectations may be expelled with no refund and will be responsible for any associated costs.
